Designing clarity in complexity
TakeTask is a task management platform created to simplify complex business workflows. It allows organizations to build detailed scenarios from more than 24 types of tasks, define their properties and dependencies, and assign them to employees. My responsibility was to design the complete mobile experience for iOS and Android, from initial wireframes to final interface, ensuring that both versions felt intuitive, engaging, and visually aligned.

Shaping the mobile experience
I was responsible for the full design process of the TakeTask mobile application.
This included interface design, user experience strategy, motion design, illustrations, and the creation of a cross-platform design system. The main goal was to transform a complex operational product into something that feels straightforward and enjoyable to use.
To achieve this, I:
• Built a unified design system with reusable components, scalable typography, and flexible color tokens
• Designed more than 150 screens supporting various workflows and task scenarios
• Added contextual illustrations and icons that help users understand each step of a process
• Created interaction patterns that make it easy to follow task status, progress, and dependencies
• Improved onboarding and guidance so users can learn the app without additional training
The result is a clean and reliable experience that keeps even the most complex workflows easy to navigate.
Turning complexity into simplicity
The project required translating technical business processes into an interface that anyone could use confidently. Several key challenges shaped the design direction:
Complex task architecture with 24 unique task types, each containing different inputs, dependencies, and outcomes
Maintaining a consistent look and feel across iOS and Android while still respecting their native guidelines
Ensuring the system could scale easily as new task types or modules were added
Making large amounts of operational data readable, responsive, and quick to access
To solve these challenges, I focused on clarity, structure, and minimal cognitive load. Visual hierarchy and micro-interactions were used to explain what is happening without distracting from the main workflow.
Seamless workflows for real users
The redesigned TakeTask mobile apps turned a complex operational platform into a tool that feels simple, fast, and pleasant to use. By focusing on clarity and structure, I created an experience that allows users to manage even the most detailed workflows without friction. The new interface reduced onboarding time, improved task completion accuracy, and helped organizations adopt digital task management with less resistance from teams.
Each interaction was carefully designed to provide feedback and context. From progress tracking to task dependencies, users always understand where they are and what needs to be done next. Custom icons and visual markers guide them through multi-step processes, while a consistent design language builds trust and predictability.
The project delivered:
• A unified cross-platform design system with over 250 reusable components and styles
• 150+ production-ready screens optimized for both iOS and Android
• 24 fully supported task types, each with tailored input logic and flow
• A 30% improvement in task completion efficiency reported during early testing
• Simplified visual communication with custom illustrations and micro-interactions
Beyond the visual improvements, the system was built for scalability. It can easily adapt to new task types, industries, or business needs without breaking consistency. The new mobile experience positioned TakeTask as a modern, enterprise-grade platform that balances functionality with usability, proving that even the most advanced tools can feel intuitive and human-centered when designed with care.
